Nutcracker of Houston County: December 19th & 20th, 2009
7:00PM at the Warner Robins Civic Center International City School of Ballet presents a vividly colorful and graceful expression of the seasonal classic "The Nutcracker" at the Warner Robins Civic Center. A nonstop ballet spectacular blended with a bold and dramatic orchestration. The opening scene pulls you into a world of enchantment with the extravagant costumes, grandiose set, and engaging characters such as the clever Uncle Drosselmeyer and adorable Clara (Clare Braski). The brilliant dancers create a world of snow that Warner Robins has never seen. The Snow Scene is framed with grand white billowy trees and a winter snow flurry. The corps of ten Snow fill the stage with such beauty your senses are drawn into the snowstorm too. You then enter into the Kingdom of Sweets led by the Sugarplum Fairy (Anna Craig) who is so beautiful to watch you are forced to follow her every move. One of the most memorable characters you meet is the exotic Arabian Coffee. Bailey Joyner dances this mystifying role with attitude and a dramatic flare that will leave you wanting more. The incredible choreography of The Waltz of Flowers is led by the Dew Drop, Natalie Rossi. She is a captivating dancer with a style that defines beauty and grace. The Sugarplum Fairy and Her Cavalier perform the Grand Pas de Deux and the solo selections which are a show by themselves. --Simply breathtaking. International City School of Ballet's performance of "The Nutcracker" is a magnificent blend of ballet and music that fills your soul with Christmas beauty.
