The International City Ballet is a non-profit ballet company committed to setting and encouraging new standards for artistic excellence, innovation, creativity and providing the art of ballet as a component of education. As a Company striving for excellence, the International City Ballet provides all its dancers with the opportunity to expand their technique, desire and expression through classes, rehearsals and performances.

History

International City Ballet was founded in 2002 by Ms. Georne Aucoin. Ms. Aucoin had a strong desire to give dancers in the Warner Robins, Macon and entire Middle Georgia area a place not only to perform but to express themselves through movement. She didn't want to limit this freedom to dancers...she also hoped to increase the exposure of other artists through choreography, music and other related arts.

International City Ballet is now going into its fifth season. In four years the International City Ballet has grown from a small fledgling organization to a highly respected Ballet Company for aspiring dancers. All of the dancers from apprentice to principal have a strong passion and true dedication to their Art and to their Company.

Mission Statement

The International City Ballet is a non-profit organization committed to:

• Setting and encouraging new standards for artistic excellence, innovation and creativity.

• Providing the art of ballet as a component of education.

• Strengthening our financial and organizational foundation.

The International City Ballet will achieve its mission by training dancers in the art of classical ballet while simultaneously uplifting and encouraging them. The Company strives to make each member not only a dancer but also an Artist, defined as one who is able by virtue of imagination and skill able to create works of aesthetic vlaue. The Company desires that its dancers provide high quality, innovative performances that contribute positively to the community.
