About Us
HistoryThe International City School of Ballet was founded in 2004 as a school that would enable serious young dancers to receive extensive training year-round while also being able to experience valuable performance opportunities. Ms. Georne Aucoin, the Artistic Director of the School, strives to enrich the lives of her students through the introduction and study of dance and music. In order for students to triumph as dancers, the School has provided a faculty of highly qualified professionals and a curriculum that blends discipline and enjoyment in equal measure. The School's teaching facility includes a state of the art sound system, full-length mirrors and sprung floors with "marley" surfaces. The School takes great pride in the quality and professionalism of its operation. Since opening in August 2004 with an initial enrollment of eighty students, the School has grown to well over one hundred students who have enjoyed performing in concerts such as "Sleeping Beauty" and "The Nutcracker". ICBCompany dancers have placed in the Youth American Grand Prix every year from 2005-2009. In 2009, two of our dancers went on to the National level at YAGP and one, Bailey Joiner placed in the top 10%. Alumni have also gone on to dance professionally with companies such as Austin Ballet and Charleston Ballet Theatre. |
